Dear Members,

I trust that you and your loved ones are enjoying and appreciating the opportunity to return to some “normality” in our lives. Again, my thanks are extended to everyone for their support in these challenging COVID 19 times.

 Annual General Meeting

You will shortly receive in the mail details regarding our up-coming AGM which will be held at Wentworth Park on Sunday 12 December 2021 commencing at 10am. In addition to attending at Wentworth Park, members will be able to video to participate via video link. Details of this opportunity are included in your mailout. The 2020-2021 Annual Report, incorporating the audited financial accounts will also be in the mailout.

As you would be aware, we are required to present audited accounts to members that meet the accounting standards required. In addition to the audited accounts, you will also receive a booklet “2020/2021 Financial Results” which uses the figures from the audited accounts, however, is presented in a simpler format. As a result of great teamwork throughout the entire Association, especially amongst the track managers and their teams, we have achieved a record profit for the last financial year, and I hope you enjoy reading about this achievement.
I look forward to seeing lots of members at the AGM.

GRNSW Board of Directors
As you may be aware, there have been a couple of changes on the Board at GRNSW. Minister for Better Regulation and Innovation Kevin Anderson said the appointments provided the Board with an array of experience, while bringing in fresh ideas. He announced that the GRNSW Board will be overseen by John Williams and Rebekah Giles, as chair and deputy chair, with Helen Moore to join the Board as a director.

John Williams has been a great ambassador for rural and regional Australia, Helen Moore has previously served on the GRNSW Board and Rebekah Giles is a practicing lawyer with a background in sports law and was previously a member of the GWS Giants board and chaired the integrity committee. We look forward to continuing our strong relationship with the entire GRNSW Board.

Ladbrokes Flight to The Phoenix
It is fair to say that the nominations to date to the heats of the Ladbrokes Flight to The Phoenix has not been as good as anticipated, however, we congratulate those who have dared to dream. I am confident that the semi-finals and final will be highly competitive and a worthy winner will head down to The Meadows to proudly represent NSW and look to win first prizemoney of $750,000!
Sincere thanks to our amazing partners Ladbrokes for the additional support of this unique event.

Save the Date – Association Dinner
The Association Dinner has been re-scheduled for Saturday 12 February 2022 at Wentworth Park. More information will be forwarded in December. I am sure the night will be special and memorable.
