Greyhounds Australasia (GA) have commission KPMG to under take research which will provide data to GA with regards to the impact policies and procedures implemented to date will have on the life cycle of the greyhound.

KPMG are collecting data based on the greyhound population throughout Australia in the various phases of the life cycle. They are then preparing a model that will effectively forecast the impact of various change levers being introduced nationally and at State level. Participant input is directly connected to the success of the project. State membership bodies have been asked to assist in the forming of workshop members.

The NSW GBOTA is therefore calling for participant expression of interest to be involved in the workshop process.

Two workshops will be held in NSW.

1. South/Metropolitan Area

Thursday, June 2

Greyhound Social Club, Yagoona

Light lunch supplied

2. Hunter Area

Friday, June 3

Maitland Committee Room, Showground, Maitland

Light lunch supplied

The workshops will be up to 10 members and will involve questions from KPMG. The NSW GBOTA and KPMG are seeking to include a range of participants (owners, trainers, rearers and breeders) which can contribute with information on their own current experiences.

Participants which are able and interested in contributing to the process are asked to email: by 12noon, Monday, May 23, 2016, stating availability for:

  • contact details
  • which workshop
  • current level of engagement with the industry including number of greyhounds owned/trained/breed/rearing.

Alternatively, participants can contact NSW GBOTA Operations Manager, Ellen Harris on 0403 802 022.
